Tech Hero Frequently Asked Questions Tech Hero Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I join a franchise when I can open a business myself?
A. If you have expertise in computers, customer service, marketing, purchasing, inventory control, training, accounting, business law, employee management, form design, procedure development, funding, budgeting, profit/loss analysis, policy setting, and performance monitoring, then you might do well on your own. If you lack skill in any of these areas, then yours could be one of the thousands of small businesses that fail each year. Being part of a franchise operation means that you acquire the expertise and proven business techniques in every area of running a business. Tech Hero, Inc. has developed road-tested systems for setting up and managing a profitable business. We support our Franchisees on every step of the journey because your success is our success.

Q. How long does it take to get started?
A. Many variables can affect your startup timeline, such as whether or not you have operated a business before and how much technical training you will need. You could be in business in as little as 60 days as a Tech Hero Franchisee. A Master Franchisee could be in business in less than 30 days.

Q. Do I have to lease or build office space?
A. No. In fact, the Tech Hero vehicle operates as a mobile office. You may need to set aside room at your home for backup supplies, but you could set up delivery of hardware and such at a postal store. If you are interested in becoming a Master Franchisee, then you would consider obtaining office space.

Q. Is financing available?
A. Tech Hero has many lending sources available to assist our Franchisees. With good credit a Franchisee can often lease/purchase the necessary equipment, signage and inventory with as little as 2-5% down.

Q. Why don't we specialize in one type of service?
A. We have discovered that the most profitable market for computer consulting and repair is in serving small businesses. Whereas large corporations can afford a staff of computer experts, the small businesses need access to experts. If we specialize in one area, such as networking, then we would miss out on the volume of service in basic tasks such as transferring data from an old PC to a new one. Small business owners would rather hire an expert than spend their time struggling with user manuals or calling an overseas help line to do the task themselves.

Q. Where do I purchase inventory and stock?
A. Tech Hero will provide you with a list of approved national suppliers who offer us high quality parts at wholesale prices. Additionally, they offer us services such as drop shipping, inventory control, and buy back of non-selling items.

Q. What if I've never run a business before?
A. We offer business management training in accounting, financial statements and budgeting. We also provide hands-on management, operations practice and mentoring with a coach. In addition to training, we provide a thorough Startup Manual and an Operations Manual that include the forms, procedures, policies and standards that employ proven techniques for running a successful business.

Q. What if I know how to run a business, but I don't know how to fix computers?
A. We have a curriculum of entry-level and advanced CompTIA and Microsoft courses to turbo-charge your technical skills and certifications. Our technical training is in operating systems, core hardware, networks and Windows XP Professional. We also recommend a collection of tests to qualify applicants so you can hire the talented technicians you need to serve your customers.
