Prepare for disaster recovery:

• Store your Windows startup disks and device drivers and keep them up-to-date.
• Regularly backup your customized software, such as your Outlook Express address book. This is the kind of data that would be difficult and time-consuming to rebuild.
• Write each program's serial number on the CD label or on the program's jewel case.
• Keep a copy of all your network settings in case you have to reinstall your network on a new computer. (DNS, gateway, network card settings, IP address). Your Tech Hero will need this information.
